Tamara graduated with a Bachelor of Science from St Francis Xavier University in 1986 and her Physiotherapy degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1993. After working in Calgary she returned to her home town of Vernon in 1996 where she has continued to work in private practice physiotherapy. In 2006 Tamara received her certificate in Medical Acupuncture from the University of Alberta.
Throughout her career continuing education has always been of utmost importance. As a result of this continuing education Tamara has experience in assessing and treating a wide variety of conditions and injuries. Tamara uses a variety of techniques and modalities to help her clients achieve their own goals whether that is pain relief or improved range of motion/strength. These techniques include acupuncture, intramuscular stimulation (IMS), surface electromyography (sEMG) , manual therapy, and exercise prescription.
Outside of work Tamara is actively involved in triathlon completing her first Ironman Canada in 2010 and continues to train for the various races in the future. Tamara and her husband also enjoy racing their sailboat and rock climbing/hiking in the summer months and skiing both telemark and cross country in the winter months.
