###Registered Provisional Psychologist “Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day," Winnie-the-Pooh #####I am trained in CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy, and I support adult (18+) and youth (13+) clients in approaching their mental health and emotional wellness in ways that are impactful and healing. I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist, and I provide sessions both in-person in Sherwood Park and online to clients across Alberta. Throughout my career, I have supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, ADHD and autism symptoms, difficulties with interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation, and more. Prior to becoming a psychologist, I worked as a social coach, engaging with children experiencing social difficulties and helping them develop skills to navigate friendships, school challenges, and interpersonal dynamics. This experience gave me a strong foundation in understanding developmental stages and the importance of early support in fostering resilience. I have spent a substantial part of my career working with youth, and many of my teenage clients have shared that therapy with me “feels like talking to a friend,” which I consider a core strength of my approach. My clinical training includes formal education in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I also integrate skills from other approaches, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, attachment theory, and Person- Centered Therapy. By combining modalities, I can tailor sessions to meet the individual needs of each client, ensuring therapy is practical, engaging, and impactful. #####My therapeutic style emphasizes building a warm, supportive rapport with clients while maintaining a strong focus on progress and goal achievement. Life can be challenging, and it can be invaluable to have someone alongside to navigate transitions and difficulties. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship, honouring the courage it takes to be vulnerable and open in therapy. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Each session is designed to address the unique goals of the client, whether that is developing coping strategies, building self-esteem, processing difficult experiences, or unlearning maladaptive patterns. For some clients, therapy may be a place to explore feelings and gain insight, while for others, it may involve structured skill-building and goal-oriented work. I aim to create a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported, while also being gently challenged to grow. #####I am also passionate about supporting girls, women, and non-binary individuals in areas such as self-esteem, identity development, and life transitions. I work to provide a space where my clients feel validated in their experiences and empowered to build confidence and resilience. I also have a particular interest in supporting individuals from South Asian and other minority backgrounds. I understand the dual identities that can come with being part of a minority community and the navigation it requires, and I aim to provide culturally sensitive support for clients managing these complexities. In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy connecting with clients over shared interests, including anime, video games, and other hobbies. For my personal self-care, I enjoy walking, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the world. #####I am committed to walking alongside clients through life’s challenges and celebrating their progress. My approach integrates evidence-based practices with a compassionate, person-centered focus. Whether a client is seeking support for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, neurodiverse experiences, or life transitions, I aim to provide individualized care that promotes growth, resilience, and well-being. Therapy is a collaborative journey. I work with clients to clarify their goals and ensure each session contributes to meaningful change. I believe that with empathy, guidance, and the right strategies, individuals can navigate challenges, gain perspective, and achieve their personal goals. ####Educational Background - Master of Counselling Psychology - Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology ####Presenting Issues or Concerns - Abandonment - Abortion - Abuse - Academic Concerns - ADHD/Inattention/Impulsivity/Hyperactivity - Adjusting to Change - Adolescent Issues - Adoption/Foster Care - Aggression and Violence - Aging and Geriatric Issues - Agoraphobia - Anger - Anxiety - Attachment Issues - Autism/ASD - Bipolar Disorder - Blended Family - Body Image - Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) - Behavioural Issues - Breakup - Bullying - Medical Diagnosis - Career Counselling - Caregiver Issues/Stress - Child/Adolescent Issues - Chronic Illness - Chronic Pain - Codependency - Commitment Issues - Communication - Compulsive Spending/Shopping - Connection - Control Issues - Coping Skills - Creative blocks - Consent - Dependency Concerns - Depression - Diet Culture - Discrimination - Divorce/Separation - Dissociation - Domestic Abuse/Violence - Dysregulation - Eating and Food Issues - Emotional Abuse - Emotional Intelligence - Emotional Overwhelm - Emotional Regulation - Emptiness - Executive Functioning/Dysfunction - Exercise - Family of Origin Issues - Fatigue - Fear - Fertility Issues - Financial Concerns - Forgiveness - Guilt - Grief/Loss - Health/Illness/Medical Issues - Identity - Impulsivity - Inadequacy - Infidelity/Affair - Internet Addiction - Identity - Infertility - Intimacy - Irritability - Isolation - Jealousy - LGBTQIA2S+ Mental Health - Life Purpose - Life Challenges - Life Transitions - Loss - Men’s Issues - Midlife Crisis - Money and Financial Issues - Mood Swings/Disorders - Multicultural Concerns - Marriage Issues - Narcissism - Neglect - Neurodiversity - OCD/Obsessions and Compulsions - ODD/Oppositional and Defiant Behaviours - Panic/Panic Attacks - Paranoia - Parenting - Perfectionism - Personal Development - Personality Disorders - Phobias - Physical Abuse - Polyamory/Non-monogamy - Postpartum Depression - Power/Control - Pregnancy & Childbirth - Pregnancy Loss - Prenatal or Postnatal Anxiety, Depression, Trauma - Prejudice/Discrimination - Premarital - Racism - Rejection - Relationship Issues - Religious Issues - Seasonal Depression - Self-Actualization - Self-Care - Self-Compassion - Self-Criticism - Self-Doubt - Self-Esteem - Self-Harming - Self-Love - Self-Worth - Sensitivity to Criticism - Separation - Sexuality - Sexual Abuse/Assault - Sexual Desire - Sexual Identity - Sexual Orientation - Sexual Violence - Shame - Sibling Challenges - Sleep Disorders - Smoking Cessation - Social Anxiety/Phobia - Spirituality - Stress - Substance Use - Suicide/Suicidal Ideation - Teen Issues/Challenges - Transitions - Trauma - Trust Issues - Values Clarification - Victim - Women’s Issues - Workplace Issues - Worry - Worthlessness - Young Adult Issues ####Approaches Used - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) - Narrative Therapy - Attachment Based - Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT) - Mindfulness - Motivational Interviewing - Person Centered Therapy - Solution Focussed Therapy - Strengths Based - Trauma Informed ####Professional Associations/Regulatory Board - College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
