Registered Clinical Counsellor — Children, Youth & Families | EMDR | Trauma-Informed Therapy
Tarnia is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #17008) with over 20 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families through emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges. She offers trauma-informed therapy that integrates EMDR, CBT, DBT, IFS, Expressive Therapy, and Family Systems approaches to help clients build emotional resilience and strengthen relationships.
Her counselling style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. Tarnia creates a safe and inclusive space where children and families can process experiences, develop coping skills, and discover their strengths. She has extensive experience working with anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum differences, attachment and relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, grief, and trauma.
Before joining Sojourn Counselling and Neurofeedback, Tarnia worked within the Surrey School District as a counsellor and teacher, as well as with community programs supporting youth involved in the justice and mental health systems. This background gives her a deep understanding of the complex factors influencing a child’s wellbeing at home, school, and in the community.
Tarnia is passionate about helping clients reconnect with their natural capacity for healing and growth. Whether through play, creative expression, or evidence-based trauma work, she meets each client with empathy and attunement.
