Victoria Mitchell, RMT
À propos de Victoria
Dans ses motsVictoria uses an eclectic approach that is tailored to each person’s unique goals and preferences. She has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and holistic/somatic therapy, modalities that are wonderfully complementary and work together to build strength and resilience at the same time as happiness and connection to the here and now.
She believes that part of mental health is a set of skills that anyone can learn. She makes sure that her clients know what to do when they experience unhelpful thoughts, challenging emotions, or find themselves stuck in patterns that don’t serve them. She also works with clients to foster thriving relationships, address core beliefs that are holding them back, orient to their values, and connect to a deeper sense of meaning and purpose.
Victoria works to help a client become their own greatest ally, learn what a life worth living truly means to them, and move towards it in manageable steps.
Clients working with Victoria are often surprised to find that dealing with challenges through therapy can be fun and engaging. While it is no doubt hard work, most reflect that their appointment is a highlight in their week, and that the work they are doing is much easier than having to struggle with it alone.
Victoria has a background in physical health from a previous career as a Registered Massage Therapist, which she draws from regularly in order to provide more comprehensive support to her clients. Her time as an RMT, clinical counsellor, and registered psychologist amounts to 16 wonderful years of creating safe spaces, facilitating healing, and working hard alongside clients of all types to achieve their goals.
Victoria is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
