Xiaolan is a Registered Psychotherapist in the Province of Ontario (CRPO). She is an active professional member of Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA); and a professional affiliate member of Ontario Psychological Association (OPA). Xiaolan has a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Counselling Psychology from OISE, University of Toronto, and a Master’s degree in Social Psychology from Guangzhou University, China.
Xiaolan is passionate about helping clients who would like to change or improve real issues in their lives, such as stress management, improved partner communication, handling criticism better, dealing with relatives/friends/managers, etc. In particular, Xiaolan is passionate about encouraging post-traumatic growth.
Xiaolan’s clinical approach integrated with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Xiaolan has 12 years of practical experience in helping clients learn psychological knowledge, practical skills, and tools to address their concerns and improve their quality of life.
Xiaolan takes a collaborative stance and seeks to facilitate client empowerment by moving beyond “problem talk” to “solution talk”, thus helping clients envision a more satisfying and hopeful future, recognize their strengths and resources and use them to generate their realistic solutions as much as possible.
