Yara Pyrozhok is a registered art therapist with a multidisciplinary background in psychotherapy, medicine, and education. She holds a medical degree in psychiatry from Ukraine and is a Registered Canadian Art Therapist (RCAT). Yara is also an educator with certification in Early Childhood Education, including Infant, Toddler, and Special Needs care.
Her professional approach is grounded in trauma-informed and attachment-informed practice, integrating clinical knowledge with creative and developmentally appropriate therapeutic methods.
Yara has extensive experience working with children, families, and individuals across the lifespan, including neurodivergent populations and clients with diverse emotional and developmental needs. She is the founder of a holistic daycare program that integrates art, creativity, and child-centered therapeutic approaches.
Her current clinical focus is on supporting women and adults through art therapy, with an emphasis on eco-therapy, emotional regulation, and culturally sensitive care. She has experience working with individuals from refugee and migration backgrounds and remains open to supporting First Nations, Métis, and Indigenous clients in a respectful and collaborative manner.
In addition to her therapeutic work, Yara is a creative practitioner with a background in pastry arts. She is gradually exploring the integration of art, sensory experience, and food-based creative processes within workshop formats, as part of a broader, evolving approach to holistic well-being.
