Concussion AssessmentNew patient
« This online appointment is a comprehensive "health check" for your brain. Using your webcam and specialized apps, our clinicians examine how your brain communicates with your body. We don’t just ask how you feel; we use several different tests to see how you are actually functioning.
Here is what we will cover during your session:
1. Getting Your Story (Clinical History)
We start with a detailed conversation about what happened. We’ll talk about your symptoms, how you’re feeling mentally, and your medical history to get a full picture of your recovery.
2. Mental Sharpness (Neurocognitive Testing)
Think of this as a "fitness test" for your mind. We use digital tasks to measure:
Reaction Time: How fast you respond to information.
Memory: How well you hold onto and use information.
Focus: Your ability to pay attention to visual details.
3. Vision & Balance (VOMS)
Concussions often affect how your eyes and inner ear work together. Your clinician will watch you perform specific eye movements on screen to check for any triggers of dizziness, nausea, or blurred vision.
4. Balance Tracking
Using a specialized app on your phone, we measure "postural sway." This tells us how well the part of your brain responsible for balance (the Parietal Lobe) is working by tracking how steady you stay while standing.
5. Physical Coordination
We will guide you through simple physical movements—such as touching your nose or moving your hands quickly—to assess your coordination. We may also ask you to check your heart rate or blood pressure to see how your body handles changes in position.
Note: Please ensure you are in a quiet, well-lit room with enough space to stand up and move around safely during the assessment. »Physiotherapy
« Physiotherapy allows the opportunity to strengthen imbalances, correct postural issues, decrease chronic pain, and increase the mobility of muscles and joints. It can be the best place to prepare the body for future activity and training programs (increased strength, mobility, and stability). »Assessment - Begin your JourneyNew patient
