About Parveen
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a deep passion for psychology, healing, and community wellbeing.
From an early age, I was inspired by the power of understanding people’s experiences and the meaningful impact that empathy and care can have on individuals and families.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults, supporting a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and life transitions. I also have experience working with children with disabilities and supporting families as they navigate complex emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. I recognize that challenges often affect not only individuals but also their relationships and family systems, and I strive to offer care that is thoughtful and responsive to each unique situation.
My therapeutic approach is client-centred, empathetic, and collaborative. I believe that each client brings their own strengths, values, and lived experiences into therapy, and I work alongside clients to support goals that are meaningful to them. I am trained in EMDR and draw from a range of evidence-informed approaches, tailoring therapy to meet the needs, pace, and preferences of each individual.
Cultural identity and lived experience are important aspects of mental health. I strongly value diversity, inclusion, and the importance of embracing different perspectives. I aim to create a culturally sensitive and inclusive therapeutic space where individuals feel safe, respected, and understood. I am mindful of how culture, family expectations, intergenerational experiences, and systemic factors can shape mental health and well-being.
In addition to clinical work, I am committed to ongoing growth through research involvement, professional development, and community initiatives. I believe that staying curious and engaged allows me to provide ethical, informed, and responsive care.
With my empathetic nature and dedication to psychology, my goal is to support the well-being of individuals and families within the broader community. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate challenges, build resilience, and move toward healing, balance, and meaningful change.
