“This organization discriminates against Native people who do not have a status card and trying to access services. This practice is laterally violent, subjecting Indigenous Community Members to racist behaviour and attitudes. Some community members have received support, although they do not possess a status card. It is evident Anishnawbe Health Toronto is creating division in the Indigenous Community by the ongoing preferential treatment of accepting some and denying services to long standing Community Members. Requirement of proof of Nativeness is not necessary just from showing a status card. Did you know there are white women who gained Indian status from marrying Native men? Nepotism is lateral violence. Stop harming the Indigenous Community.”Read moreShow less
