Absolute worst place to get glasses. Terrible manners, extremely rude staff, condescending, and they didn't even have a good selection of frames - none that fit me. They broke my existing glasses & tried selling me theirs, and refused to repair the damage they caused. I have given them many chances to provide good service - I'm never giving them a dime ever again. I go to Penticton Optical now.Read moreShow less

I've been going to Apex Optometry for five years now and have had all positive experiences. They take their time during my appointment, are friendly, helpful, and there is no pressure to purchase glasses, etc. from them. I am a dog lover and it is a pet friendly office. The Optometrist, Dr. Zak has two very calm dogs hanging out.Read moreShow less

I wasn't originally going to review this optometry office but something just isn't sitting well with me after three of our family members visited here on three separate occasions. The office is dated, the equipment is dated and he's got old bottles of expired, crusty eye care solutions on his desk. Every time I have been here I have heard him blaming his staff or someone to else for something silly. Aside from the less than comfortable office setting the staff are very rushed and will make you feel uncomfortable if you need more time or heaven forbid you have a hesitant child who might require someone to go a bit more slow and explain what is happening. I've been seeing eye specialists my entire life and never have felt something was as off as this office. It's all about the money here. The patient is always wrong and Dr Zak Is living in the ideations of 25 plus years ago. I will not be returning here. I won't be bringing my child back and will not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to be over charged and under serviced.Read moreShow less

I had an unfortunate experience here and recommend any new clients to go somewhere else! I just moved to the city and needed to find a new optometrist. I have never had such a weird experience at an eye doctor as the staff at the front felt very unprofessional and the doctor had dogs in his office without any warning beforehand (allergies). I was double charged for my eye appointment and upon follow up, the receptionist denied it and said there wasn’t a second receipt so they didn’t charge me twice. I know it’s possible to charge someone again without printing a receipt or losing it/throwing it out so it would have been nice if they checked payment records to see if two charges came from my card. Unfortunately I have to go through my bank to fix this. Next, they sent me the WRONG prescription. I find this business highly unprofessional and left feeling really weird about the whole experience. I hope that I will eventually get my money back and for my prescription to be reported accurately cause eye exams are not cheap.Read moreShow less

I've been seeing Dr. Zak for almost 20 years (I'm 34), he's been absolutely wonderful. His team is always welcoming, knowledgeable and patient. Dr. Zak takes his time with you, you're not rushed out the door or made to feel like a "cog in the wheel". I recommend Apex Optometry every chance I get.Read moreShow less

Dr Zak identified but refused to refer me for an issue with my retinal membrane. Eventually I got a referral through my medical doctor. Both ophthalmologists I saw and the retinal surgeon told me this should have been referred immediately and could not fathom why Dr Zak did not do so.Read moreShow less

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Dr. Zak today. He far exceeded my expectations, he was professional and an excellent communicator. By far the best part on my appointment was the company of Dr. Zak’s two pups, the conversation and how knowledgeable Dr. Zak was. I highly recommend Apex Optometry.Read moreShow less

My husband had an emergency retinal detachment, Dr Zak immediately referred him to an eye surgeon making sure my husband gets in to see him right away...we got the call from the surgeon within an hour, and the staff followed up the next morning with a phone call to us to make sure we were able to get in . We were both impressed with the followup and how quickly this was taken care of...shows they really careRead moreShow less

In a world where many health professionals seem to be first, businesses, and only second, there to help the patients, Dr. Zak and his staff really stand out. His attention to detail, and his willingness to spend the time to ferret out the cause of what his patient is experiencing is remarkable. Combine these qualities with a great, professional, and friendly staff, and one soon realizes that: this is the place to go to for eye exams.Read moreShow less
