“This is the worst dentist I've ever experienced and have life-long dental issues and trust issues when it comes to dentists. I was just a 17 year old kid covered under my mothers insurance. He pulled a split upper molar that could have been fixed with a crown I found out many years later, that is when he worked in the bottom of the Bay Center. In 2016 after he opened his own practice I went in for a wisdom tooth extraction, I was fully awake with giggle gas (after he PUSHED for me to go under anesthesia $$$) and he told my mom to sit in the room (weird) and continued to talk to her the entire surgery- seemingly distracted. Sunny proceeded to extract a healthy 5 year molar with no work done to it instead of the wisdom tooth under the gum. I got home and could see a hole in the bottom front half of my mouth and couldn't understand why I couldn't see the other extraction sites. I called him after a week of healing and asked and he was "confused", so I made an appointment. When I got there and he looked into my mouth he ADMITTED he made a mistake and took the wrong tooth but still charges our insurance for a wisdom tooth extraction ($$$). He offers to extract the wisdom tooth when it grows in (sideways) one day and said he can shave down my front bottom teeth to make them look straighter (like, what?) The compensation at the end of the appointment was going to the front desk to his wife the receptionist and her offering us a Phillips electronic toothbrush for $50 instead of $150. Stupidly my elderly mother who has multiple botched root canals from him, paid the $50 and didn't sue him? Luckily I asked for my teeth when they were extracted and you can clearly see which one is not a wisdom tooth. I still have them. If I wasn't a child at the time I would have handled it so differently, now I've missed the deadline to as the years have passed on. Every dentist and oral surgeon I've been to, even this month, I tell them this story and they all roll their eyes and give the same opinion- that he is well known in the industry as problematic and they're so sorry I had to go through that and that they understand why I'm so cautious. “Worse Dental EVER!! Dr. sunny numbed my teeth and said I have problems between two teeth on both sides of my Jaw. He then numbed my mouth and began drilling between my teeth I only told him One side and I used my tongue while he drilling because Im VERY Specific and known my teeth since I was Born! Dr. sunny then began drilling sides of other teeth’s that had nothing to do with the surgical implant he was doing. I felt it with my tongue on my teeth. He intentionally drilled sides of my mouth so it can cause pain and other painful situations probably to bring me back for more work and pay for him. He then drilled between two of my teeth and gave me fillings I told him one side Only. I now have to deal with his amateur work and care for my teeth I also said handle with love which is part of their game plan I received No Love just a business Game in my mouth. “I've been a patient of Dr. Tatra for about five years now, and I can honestly say this is the best dental care I've ever received. Today I had a filling done, and once again, the experience was smooth and completely pain-free. What sets this team apart is their communication. Both Dr. Tatra and his certified dental assistant Amy take the time to explain everything before and after each procedure. There's no rushing, no confusion—just clear, thoughtful guidance about what to expect and how to care for my teeth afterward. Amy is an absolute asset to the practice. She's efficient, warm, and makes you feel at ease the moment you sit in the chair. Her support during procedures is seamless, and you can tell she and Dr. Tatra have developed a real rhythm as a team. I also have to mention Chay, the office manager, who brings such warmth to the front desk. She's brilliant with appointments, billing, and navigating insurance benefits. Any question I've ever had, she's handled it with patience and a smile. Over the years, this team has helped me stay on top of my oral health in ways I never managed before. “Exceptional Dental Office!! I’ve recently relocated to Victoria and one of my greatest anxieties was having to find a new dentist. Dr. Tatra was highly recommended and I couldn’t be more pleased. Dr. Tatra has high standards in his personal and professional practice. His commitment to providing excellent work comes right through with his thoroughness and attention to fine details. He clearly communicates the problem, in simple terms, educates his patient and provides best treatment options. I also needed to be referred to a specialist for a tooth extraction and dental implant. Dr. Tatra referred me to a specialist who met the same standards. It’s also worth mentioning that I recently dropped by his office without an appointment for a concern I had and he found time in his busy schedule to see me for an exam and xray. I was able to avoid the possibility of going to an emergency clinic over the weekend - thank you Dr. Tatra!! The level of professionalism and standards displayed by Dr. Tatra translates equally to the administrative staff and hygienists. The service in the office from teeth cleaning & preventative care, to appointment scheduling, billing, resolving issues with my insurance company and my numerous questions is always handled efficiently, competently and pleasantly. You really are fantastic! Dr. Tatra has carefully designed a non-traditional dental office without compromising the level of patient care. He has moved away from the traditional clinical and functional focus look and crafted a much more calming environment using soft lighting, warm earthy color palette with wood finishes throughout the open concept space providing a cozy, serene, relaxing and non threatening environment. In addition, Dr. Tatra has personalized the space with his own photographs on the walls and included ceiling TVs for patient distraction during procedures to reduce anxieties. “I can't recommend Dr. Sunny Tatra and his team enough! From the moment you walk in, the office is incredibly modern and comfortable—they have heated massage chairs and two TVs in every room to make you feel completely at ease. What really stands out is everyone's amazing chairside manner. Dr. Tatra always takes the extra time to patiently explain everything in detail, showing you before and after pictures so you know exactly what's going on. “Wow what a wonderful dental experience. Although I have not yet met Dr. Tatra, due to available time on my part, I did have one of the best Hygenist experiences of my life. Melissa was thorough, professional, on time, practical yet so knowledgeable. The equipment used is of the newest & highest calibre. I think they call it the ‘woodpecker’ it’s more like a nicer way to handle cleaning & plaque removal. She was really helpful on some personal suggestions for overall dental, & health. Such an enjoyable experience, and I usually hate the dentist. I would rate this 10+ out of 10. Facility was excellent, reception was helpful. Although my insurance covered all of it, I thought the price was very competitive & fair given the services provided. I was referred after my last dentist couldn’t get the Hygenist to finish cleaning on time, and poor service. I am pleased to have my new dental oasis at Tatras, congrats on your staff & wonderful atmosphere with state of the art equipment, and Melissa who knows what she’s doing…shouldn’t every dental office be like this!!!”Read moreShow less

“Such a great dentist. I have a major major phobia of needles. Dr. Tatra takes the time to talk to me about it and does it slowly and painless that even I dont have an issue.
