I had been dealing with chronic pain in both knees for several years before finally consulting my doctor, who referred me for physiotherapy. Based on strong recommendations from people I trust, I specifically asked to be referred to Essential Therapy to work with Paul. From the initial assessment, Paul took a thorough and holistic approach. In addition to my knee issues, I mentioned occasional sciatic pain, and he clearly explained how everything was interconnected. He quickly developed a structured and effective treatment plan. At every appointment, Paul dedicated the full session to hands-on treatment, demonstrating both expertise and professionalism. After each visit, I felt noticeable improvement, almost as if I was standing taller. I experienced relief even after the first session. With continued treatments and the at-home exercises he recommended, I am now pain-free. I had come to accept chronic pain as a permanent part of my life, so this turnaround has been remarkable. I’m also becoming more flexible and active as I continue to improve. Additionally, I had recently fallen that aggravated a wrist I had broken a few years ago, which had continued to cause chronic discomfort despite previous physiotherapy elsewhere. In a way, the fall turned out to be a blessing. Paul treated the injury and showed me a few simple techniques I could use myself. Not only did the pain from the recent fall subside, but the lingering chronic pain I had lived with for years is now gone as well. I highly recommend Paul at Essential Physiotherapy. Sheri is an incredible physiotherapist. She helped improve my arthritis hip symptoms that were there for 20+ years in just 2 pelvic physio sessions. She helped me through my whole pregnancy and postpartum period not only with professional advice, but also so willing to provide advice on all areas of motherhood and beyond when asked. She spends so long with her patients making sure they feel supported and always stays on top of the latest scientific research, explaining what she does in simple terms. Amazing understanding of the pelvic floor and the debilitating affects it can render!! Walking in hunched over and unable to function upright to skipping on the way out speaks volumes!! Sherri is amazing & so understanding & accommodating! When dealing with the issue of frequent engorgement when my son was just born, she was quick to help schedule me in for emergency appointments to help with clogged milk ducts. With light massage and the sound waves from the ultrasound machine, it helped to speed the healing along to help avoid mastitis before it could begin. We visited Essential Physiotherapy for birthing classes while we were pregnant and pelvic floor physiotherapy before and after and I cannot say enough about the care we received. The birthing class was exactly what we needed to get on the same page before we gave birth to our daughter -- my husband was such a good coach because of what Sherri taught him in class. Sherri totally had my back after giving birth and helped me heal my separated abs and got me on the road to strengthening my pelvic floor post birth.
