“Best dentist in Victoria. Had to come in for an emergency on a Sunday evening on the Victoria day long weekend and they just charged me for a normal visit. They opened the whole clinic just for me. Legendary.”

“Dr. Farah Remtulla has been our family dentist for about ten years now and I am so grateful that we have her. She is a kind-hearted person who genuinely cares about people’s oral health. I had deep gum pockets and the other dentist suggested me to go for a surgery. I reached out to Dr. Farah for a second opinion and she suggested we try some conventional methods before exploring that route. And thankfully, the treatment plan worked. “Dr. Darrach-Cottick diagnosed a "dead nerve" inside a molar, and quoted me thousands of $$$ for a root canal. Despite the fact I hit the roof when they did a pain test. Dead nerves don't feel anything. I have a medical education, so I was immediately suspicious. They generally charge much higher than the provincial dental fee guide, despite their opposing claim over the phone. Their root canal price was outrageous. I chose them because I thought a dentist in Fernwood would be more sensitive to the needs of a low income neighbourhood. Wrong. I think it's more a case of taking advantage of people. Despite their high fees, the office is Soviet-style ratchet. It's in much worse condition than a non-profit one I used to visit. Old paint, worn out uncomfortable chairs, no TV or even headphones for distraction. The nerve soreness lingered for two months. I saw a reputable dentist elsewhere, and we kind of sadly laughed over their misdiagnosis and attempted money grab. Just the fact that the tooth remained sore for so long, revealed Fernwood's deception. The front desk? I asked them twice to email rather than phone, as I can't take calls at work. So, similar to their medical style, of course they kept phoning. Such a lack of care for patients, in every aspect! I had the molar filled in a normal manner 8 months ago for a reasonable fee, and it feels and functions just fine. And like any dental office in the past 40 years, there's a TV on the ceiling so you can zone out.”Read moreShow less
