90 minHolland Landing Health Centre is pleased to offer Birth Preparation Sessions facilitated by Shayla Fera. These sessions are thoughtfully designed to help birthing individuals feel more confident, informed, and empowered as they prepare for labour and birth. Please note: Participation in these sessions is available only after an initial physiotherapy assessment with Shayla Fera. During the Birth Preparation Sessions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of: • The anatomy and physiology of birth, including the nervous system, pelvic anatomy, hormonal influences, fetal positioning, and cardinal movements • The complex nature of pain during labour and birth • Hands-on and hands-off comfort measures to support the birthing process • The stages of labour, including pushing techniques and the birth process • Evidence-based guidance on optimal positions and approaches to pushing • Advocacy strategies to help ensure the birthing individual feels supported and that their preferences are respected throughout pregnancy and childbirth These sessions aim to provide a supportive, educational environment where participants can build the knowledge and tools they need for a more empowered birthing experience.
