Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), also known as dry needling, is used to reduce persistent muscle tension and sensitivity. This treatment targets shortened or overactive muscles to help restore normal tone, improve mobility, and reduce pain. May be helpful for stress-related tension, headaches and migraines, as well as complex or persistent pain presentations. Performed by a Registered Physiotherapist certified in Gunn IMS. Treatment may also include assessment, manual therapy, and movement-based strategies as appropriate.

What it is
Most of this visit is spent checking what changed since last time and doing the treatment itself — guided exercises, movement retraining, hands-on techniques or taping — then adjusting your home program so you leave knowing what to keep doing until the next session.
