Strep A - Point of Care Screening Test

Medicalux is offering point of care screening tests to detect Strep A bacteria. This test is a throat swab that will performed at your vehicle in the parking lot of Medicalux Private Care. This test is for individuals who have mild/moderate symptoms or no symptoms at all. If you have a sore throat AND one of the symptoms below, DO NOT book a screening test and please consult your nearest Emergency Department: - Lethargy - Rash/Skin infection - Shortness of breath NOTE: By booking this test, you acknowledge that: - screening tests are approximately 95% accurate - These screening tests do not replace laboratory culture tests Our price is for basic Strep A screening and prescription for a positive result. If our nurse practitioner needs to perform a more thorough medical evaluation, there may be additional charges.
