Steph is my go-to for acupuncture for good reason, her treatments are very effective and enjoyable. She’s approachable, compassionate and skilled. I had never heard of Compassionate Inquiry until Steph, my brilliant acupuncturist, told me about her own experiences with it. I am so glad she did, and that I decided to give it a try! I've done lots of therapy and support groups over the years, but nothing has helped me as quickly and profoundly as my Compassionate Inquiry sessions with Steph. From small things (like being worried about the door being locked at night) to bigger issues (more challenging topics such as family dynamics and confidence/social anxiety), I've made so much progress in just a few sessions that I would really call it 'life-changing.' Steph is an incredibly compassionate and skilled acupuncturist and therapist. She always makes me feel safe, and I always leave my sessions with her feeling better than when I went in. I was experiencing a great deal of pain in my jaw, and for a prolonged period of time - a condition called TMJ disorder. Excruciating! I tried chiropractic treatments, but to no avail. It was getting very concerning as there seemed to be no end in sight. Until I found Steph Doerksen at Nurture Flo, I really didn't know where the relief would come from. But thankfully I did, and it was the use of traditional Chinese medicine and Steph's skilled approach and level of competence that finally put my dreadful condition at bay. I have been seeing Stephanie for over a year for both acupuncture and Compassionate Inquiry and she is nothing short of incredible. I have had experience with many counsellors over the years and have never found a more therapeutically skilled, interpersonally attuned, and deeply compassionate practitioner than Stephanie. Steph and her acupuncture treatments have been integral in my journey to heal old injuries and help me find my "balance" again. She is kind and patient, and always ready to answer my questions as I learn about TCM through these sessions. Steph tailors my treatments to how I am currently feeling and hope to feel, despite whatever is going on in my life. I highly recommend working with Steph on your health journey and in finding the time to rest, even just for the hour you've reserved for a session. It took me some time to get comfortable with acupuncture (very nervous around needles), but Steph's technique is amazing and I'm able to relax fully. I look forward to my (almost) weekly sessions!
