The TMJ can cause headaches, tinnitus/ringing in ears, hearing loss, sleep apnea/issues, clicking of the joint, numbness in face, and the list goes on. To combat any type of TMJ issues or TMD, intraoral is performed to loosen the muscles of mastication inside your jaw. Extraoral is performed on muscles underneath and surrounding the jaw.
