Occupational therapy - assessment - in person
Your initial visit will typically last about 1 hour. Your occupational therapist will start with a thorough history of your presenting problems, your relevant medical history will be reviewed and any medical reports if relevant to the problem will be discussed.
The occupational therapist (OT) will then do an assessment with regard to your presenting problem and discuss the findings with you. The discussion will focus on educating you on the presenting issues, the contributing factors, and the OT's treatment plan to address the relevant concerns. After obtaining the informed consent your OT may start your treatment during the initial visit itself or wait until the follow-up visit depending on the time available.
