Practical, Hands on support: Help with baby’s latch and positioning Assist with the first feedings after birth Support for different feeding positions (laid back, cradle, side lying, etc.) Help with burping, switching breasts, and feeding cues Show how to hand express or use a pump Support with bottle feeding (paced feeding, formula prep) Help establish and track a feeding schedule in the early days Informational Support: Education on: Milk supply and how it works What’s normal in the early weeks (cluster feeding, engorgement, leaking) How to know if baby is getting enough milk Guidance on nipple care, soreness, and early challenges Advice on feeding twins or multiples Help navigating feeding after a C-section, or with a premature or sleepy baby Emotional Support: Reassurance and encouragement when feeding feels hard or overwhelming Space to process emotions around breastfeeding, body image, or expectations Support without judgment!
