“The space at TLC is calming and I found the staff very lovely. My symptoms that brought me to TLC are multifaceted and not straight forward. I did 5+ weeks of TCM herbs and 6 Acupuncture treatments. Unfortunately the herbs were much too hard and unsettling for my system and weeks later I am still feeling unsettled and worse than when I started. I do wish Teresa had communicated when to reach out to adjust dosing. I also wish there was more communication around the herbs (no literature to read up on and no experience to share, ideas or support of what to do after experiencing the negative and harsh symptoms other than more Acupunture which did not help or to go see a Osteopath with the hope that it may help. I also wish there was more communication around which needles with the Acupuncture were treating what and the plan for each visit (intent) without me having to inquire. I was automatically charged for the second round of herbal treatment without my consent and before I had my appointment to even receive the new lot of herbs. I do caution anyone around the TCM herbs as I did not get a strong enough feeling around experience and from what I have learnt, these herbs need to be administered by someone with a great deal of experience. I felt blind to what I was ingesting and not explained to of what was being treated or what could be expected (it took a few visits to be told that yes that could happen after it happened). I felt like I was pressing for information instead of feeling informed. Overall I found that forthcoming communication should have been better and unfortunately I did not and do not feel any better (worse in fact) after my experience so chose to stop because I didn’t feel confident enough to do any further treatments. “Having just completed my sessions for Acupuncture treatment of idiopathic neuropathy, I am pleased to provide a positive review. The treatment has been most effective in providing me with increased stability and strength in my lower limbs. The staff at TLC were very helpful in my understanding of the techniques used in Acupuncture and always were willing to share their expertise as to my condition and prospects for recovery. “I am posting on behalf of my cousin Donna. Imagine if you will not being able to feel your feet and lower legs. This was my life. On a walk over to see an elderly neighbour I fell face first onto the sidewalk breaking my nose and seriously injuring my head and knees. Doctors at my local hospital were at a loss as to what had caused my lack of feeling. Over six months I was to see not one but five different foot doctors who believed that there was nothing to be done to help me. I was sent for numerous blood tests to determine if the cause of my neuropathy was diabetes. I do not have diabetes but certainly did have immense frustration. I had gone from being independent to having to use a cane and a walker. My life had taken a very downward turn. After a relative read a short article in her local newspaper about neuropathy and the results that TLC Medical clinic was having it was passed on to me. Reading the article gave me a glimmer of hope. I made an appointment to go for an assessment. I was very impressed with the care and compassion which I received and decided to go forward with acupuncture treatment. Over the course of the summer I have had significant improvement, going from an almost total loss of feeling to being able to feel a Cheerio that I had dropped on my kitchen floor. My spirit has returned; I now have a more positive outlook and best of all am able to walk without the walker using a cane as a security measure. “When western medicine avenues continued to frustrate and fail me, I decided to pursue traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. An osteopath recommended Teresa to me for my period and generalized pain. Upon my initial consultation, I felt seen and heard. Teresa approached my issues with knowledge and empathy. “After 9 rounds of chemo and 28 rounds of radiation I was left with extreme neuropathy in my feet. I could feel nothing! We went to the cottage and I threw my stoma scissors into my shoe to transport them and then proceeded to go on a hike full of hills for two hours. When we got back I saw that there was a pair of scissors in my shoe and I could not believe I walked on them, and felt nothing. I saw Teresa's ad in the Beach Metro News and went to see her. She did all kinds of tests and my feet were almost 100 percent numb. That made me frightened and she assured me that acupuncture would help. Well it did. I still go regularly and I can finally feel everything including any little pebble in my shoes. Her staff are absolutely fantastic and I love to go and have some me time and I say run(if you can) to see her.
