“BEWARE FUTURE STUDENTS!! I normally don’t write reviews, but my experience with the Year 1 Massage Therapy Program was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others before they invest their time and money. I withdrew from the program after four weeks because the quality of education was far below what was promised. The program was chaotic from day one. Within the first month, I was taught by at least five different instructors, all giving conflicting information and methods. One instructor even dismissed the official LMS videos as “outdated,” even though they’re part of the curriculum. It was impossible to know which instructions were correct, and this inconsistency directly affected my grades. The virtual classes were overcrowded and disorganized, combining students from multiple provinces with different academic requirements. Instead of structured learning, it felt like a constant state of confusion. The workload was nothing like what was communicated during enrollment. The school advertised flexibility, but the program turned out to be an Accelerated Full-Time Program—something I was never told. It was unrealistic to balance the program with work, family, or any personal obligations. Feedback was also a major problem. Despite completing all my assignments, I often received no meaningful feedback at all. I once submitted six hours of detailed homework only to have it returned unread. When I asked about it, I was told they “only need to see that I did it.” That’s not acceptable in a professional education program. On top of that, I experienced disrespectful and unfair grading during a practice exam, which I reported in detail. There was no accountability or constructive support. Overall, the learning environment was confusing, overwhelming, and poorly managed. I enrolled in good faith, and I genuinely tried to succeed, but the lack of organization, transparency, and consistency made it impossible to continue without harming my well-being. If you’re considering this program, I strongly recommend asking very direct questions about scheduling, workload, instructor consistency, and what “flexibility” actually means—because my experience did not match the promises that were made. Despite these serious issues and withdrawing early due to the school’s lack of consistency and support, I was told I still owe 60% of the tuition. I now have a student loan for $12,000 for nothing! I do not believe it’s fair or ethical to charge students that much when the program does not deliver what it advertises. I would not recommend this school based on my experience. UPDATE: The school replied that they take my concerns serious. This is not the case. My concerns fell on deaf ears. If you take this seriously you would return my tuition! This is emotion and financial blackmail.”Lire la suiteRéduire

“I've had several visits to a sports physio practitioner who wasn't nearly as effective at relieving pain as these students are. I'm happy to be used as a "guinea pig" and receive great massages at a very reasonable cost. These students pay a lot of money to take this course and take their job very seriously. They have extensive knowledge of muscles and are well supervised. I just wish they had an online feedback mechanism - some students don't give a great massage, and one left me in significant pain for a week after she overworked one back muscle with too much pressure and for too long. They need to know this. How else will they learn?”Lire la suiteRéduire

“I am currently a student at MOCC Calgary, and I am very glad at how easy they have made things for me, there a lot of things that I did not understand with the online part for handing in assignments, Kara has been extremely helpful at quickly answering my questions, explaining the assignment in full detail, responding to questions even when she was on holidays, and even helping navigate the settings on my computer during class to make my learning experience easier, I am very fortunate to have Kara’s help. Love the teaching methods of Blaine also! Extremely well read on everything that he teaches, and I especially love how he uses apologies to explain profound subjects, making it more easy to conceptualize, most certainly a master in his field.”Lire la suiteRéduire

“I had very best experience with a student name Heather . She is already a therapist! Her touch, pressure, overall feelings that you get after massage are very pleasant. But the receptionist is not very welcoming lady at all. I don’t know her name, but my visit was on Mon, Dec 2 .”Lire la suiteRéduire

“As a reflexology therapist, my arms often need more care than I can provide for myself. After trying various places and RMTs from different training facilities, I’m so glad I found the Alberta College of Massage Therapy! I had a session with Phi N, and I can’t praise him enough. He was incredibly professional, not only listening to my specific needs but going above and beyond to ensure a thorough and personalized treatment. His intake process was detailed, and he took the time to explain what he was doing and why. At one point, an instructor observed and asked Phi some technical questions, and it was clear he had a strong grasp of his craft. Phi was friendly, knowledgeable, and highly skilled—I’ll definitely be back. The pricing was also more than reasonable!”Lire la suiteRéduire

“I've now had 2 massages with Dominic. I like that it's not just a relaxing time...they begin with questions to see what areas to target (beyond "what area should I target"), continue this with a physical assessment and end with advice for homecare. Dominic seems to be very knowledgeable and responsive to my comfort. Teacher steps in halfway through, not obtrusive but seems to give the students good direction. And I feel so much better afterwards. I'll definitely be coming back.”Lire la suiteRéduire

“Experience is always incredible! I've seen Zoe M for multiple sessions; she does an excellent job of identifying and targeting my problem areas and gives me simple yet effective exercises to do at home to maintain progress. The instructors are also lovely and treat both students and clients with respect while ensuring a high quality of care. Absolutely recommend booking a massage here!”Lire la suiteRéduire

“Adrian B was fantastic! My shoulders and back actually feel like they’ve been worked on and are still sore today. He massaged muscles I don’t think have ever been touched in any other massage. His massage technique is hard and deep, which he is very aware of, and easily lightens up when asked. He also left me with a shoulder stretch as ‘homework’. Would highly recommend!”Lire la suiteRéduire
