About Candice
I’m a movement professional with nearly two decades of experience in exercise physiology, health promotion, and movement-based care. I hold both an Honours undergraduate degree and a Master’s degree in Human Kinetics, with academic and research training focused on Type 2 diabetes, metabolic health, and exercise physiology.
My work has spanned clinical, research, community, and fitness-based settings. I’ve supported people across the lifespan in rehabilitation, chronic disease management, and general fitness, and I’ve taught a wide range of group movement classes.
I’ve spent nearly two decades working in rehabilitation, exercise physiology, chronic pain, and holistic health. I provide in-depth physical assessments, design personalized movement programs, and help people rebuild trust with their bodies—especially after injury, illness, burnout, or long stretches of survival mode. I’m now a proud member of the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, after winding my way back home to Ottawa via Thompson, Manitoba and Halifax, Nova Scotia
I’m a lifelong learner and currently deep into an Ayurvedic course that weaves seasonal living, rhythm, digestion, and energy into everyday life—and yes, I love talking about it if you’re curious. I’m also deeply nourished by nature, travel, cold plunges, warm and delicious foods, getting my hands dirty in the garden, and having my 5-year-old canine companion join me in as much of life as possible.
At the core of my work is a simple principle: meet people where they are. I aim to create a professional, supportive environment where clients feel informed, capable, and confident in making lasting changes to how they move and live.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
My approach is collaborative, attentive, and respectful of individual capacity and context. Sessions are structured, but adaptable. Emphasis is placed on learning, body awareness, and sustainable progress rather than rigid timelines or perfection.
I prioritize prevention and long-term health. That includes paying attention to recovery, energy levels, habits, and stress, not just exercise selection or volume. Consistency matters, but safety and regulation come first.
My work is rooted in evidence and guided by values of respect, stewardship, and care—for people, health, and the environments that sustain us. I enjoy incorporating music and sound into my offerings as a motivational and grounding tool, recognizing that learning occurs not just in the brain but also in the body, breath, and the spaces between.
