Dans ses motsMary (Owner / Registered Physiotherapist) graduated from Cairo University in Egypt with a Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy in 2001, and then she got her Master Degree in Physiotherapy in 2008. Her dream became true as she moved to Canada as a federal skilled worker in 2013 and got her License as a physiotherapist in Canada in 2014. She continued her education to assure quality of care for her patients by completing Pelvic Floor course for treating urinary incontinence problems (i.e post pregnancy, post spinal cord injuries, old age, etc.)
She later took McKenzie courses, which focuses on mechanical diagnosis and therapy for neck, back, and radiating pain disorder. Mary also increased her tool belt by adding acupuncture and dry needling to help with musculoskeletal problems.
She later took advanced taping course “Dynamic taping” which gave her the ability to customize any tape job for any individual to improve muscle activation and decrease pain and muscle tightness, APTEI Shoulder course for diagnosing and treating different shoulder dysfunctions. Mary also completed the GLAD program, which focuses on treatment and education of osteoarthritis.
Through her experience with working with active people (athletes, nurses, etc) she saw the benefits of custom-made orthotics, braces, and compression stockings, which allows them to continue participating with their active life during treatment. Temporomandibular Joint dysfunction (TMJ) is one of her specialities where she helps patients with jaw pain, headaches and neck pain, and she provides Vestibular and concussion rehab to help patients with dizziness, vertigo and other concussion symptoms, to help improve their quality of life and daily struggles.
Since 2015, she has taken a keen interest towards and teaching through accepting students for their placements. She took students from Ottawa, Queen’s, Western and Dalhousie Universities. They have all improved their profession and manual skills through their placements.
Mary has always had and interest in sports, particularly swimming, badminton, and biking. Growing in the Emirates and swimming at a competitive level, she developed the passion in treating sports injuries and bringing them back to their competitive edge. Mary enjoys many different activities with her family including traveling, board games and singing. Mary is a mother of three and cherishes the mother-baby bond and takes the pride in treating blocked milk ducts.
