About Abeera

Their own words
Abeera Rahil is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, along with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto, where she also completed double minors in Philosophy and Biology. This interdisciplinary background has shaped Abeera’s holistic and thoughtful approach to therapy, allowing her to integrate scientific understanding, reflective insight, and an appreciation for the complexity of the human experience. With around four years of experience in the mental health field, Abeera has supported individuals navigating anxiety, relational challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, career stress, grief, self-esteem concerns, spirituality and faith-related concerns, health and lifestyle challenges, and personal growth among several other areas. She has experience working with clients across diverse backgrounds and life stages, including teenagers, adults, and seniors, and approaches each client with warmth, empathy, and authenticity. Abeera’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, person-centered, and trauma-informed. She draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness-based approaches, narrative therapy, and other integrative techniques depending on each client’s unique needs and goals. Through a biopsychosocial lens, she supports clients in understanding the connection between the mind, body, environment, and personal experiences while helping them develop practical tools for emotional regulation, self-understanding, and long-term growth. Along with offering sessions in both English and Urdu, Abeera believes therapy can serve as a meaningful space for self-exploration, healing, and resilience. She strives to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore patterns, strengthen their sense of identity, and move toward lasting and sustainable change at a pace that feels right for them.
