Their own words#ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS | Bilingual Services (English & Igbo)
Healing, personal growth, and change can feel overwhelming at times and often require support. Ada’s goal is to walk alongside clients as a supportive and compassionate partner in their journey helping them feel grounded, understood, and empowered every step of the way. Ada is a dedicated Registered Provisional Psychologist who believes that meaningful connection and safe relationships are at the heart of healing. She works collaboratively with clients to reconnect with their authentic selves, fostering a renewed sense of confidence, hope, and purpose. Central to her approach is the belief that each person already holds the capacity for healing, resilience, and growth—her role is to help you access and strengthen those inner resources.
Grounded in a trauma-informed, integrative, and holistic framework, Ada’s work is influenced by attachment theory and guided by a strong commitment to person-centred care. She recognizes that identities—including race, culture, religion, gender, and socioeconomic experiences—shape how we experience the world and our mental health. With this awareness, she brings an intentional, culturally responsive lens to her work ensuring that therapy is respectful, affirming, relevant and honours each client’s unique lived experience.
Ada draws from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Strengths-Based practices. Through this integrative approach, she supports clients in processing difficult experiences, understanding patterns, developing insight, and building sustainable coping strategies.
She works with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, supporting a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, postpartum challenges, OCD, emotional regulation, self-esteem, ADHD, life transitions and relationship or parenting difficulties. She strives to create a space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences openly and at their own pace.
Ada is a Registered Provisional Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and a member of the Grief Recovery Institute. She holds a Master of Counselling degree from Athabasca University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mount Allison University. Committed to ongoing professional growth and the continual refinement of her clinical practice, Ada has completed specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based trauma therapy that supports the reprocessing of distressing experiences. She is also a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and facilitates grief recovery support groups.
As a trauma and grief-informed therapist, Ada approaches therapy with curiosity, empathy, and transparency, prioritizing a safe, compassionate, and collaborative environment where clients feel seen, valued, supported, and empowered. Her goal is to help individuals move from pain, disconnection, or feeling stuck toward greater clarity, balance, and overall well-being—emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

“This session is designed for parents to meet independently with the therapist (without the child present) to discuss the child’s ongoing progress in therapy, any new concerns, and strategies to support their well-being at home or school.
Parent follow-up sessions provide a collaborative space to review treatment goals, share updates, and strengthen the connection between therapy and daily life. These meetings help ensure that parents feel informed, supported, and aligned with the therapeutic process.
Please let us know in advance if there are any changes to custody or decision-making arrangements, so we can ensure all legal and ethical considerations are met.
If you have any questions or would like guidance on booking a parent follow-up session, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re here to help.”2 optionsParent Intake SessionNew patient
“Thank you for considering therapy for your child.
As part of our intake process, therapists often begin with a parent-only session. This initial appointment is for parents to meet with the therapist without the child present to discuss the child’s needs, history, and goals for therapy. It provides an important opportunity to share background information, gain insight into your child’s emotional and psychological well-being, and collaborate on how best to support them both in and outside of sessions.
Please let us know about any parental custody or decision-making arrangements prior to booking, so we can ensure all legal and ethical considerations are met.
If you have any questions or would like more information before scheduling, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re here to help.”2 optionsYouth Intake SessionNew patient
“Thank you for considering therapy for your child. As part of our intake process, the initial session is primarily for the youth. Parents or caregivers attend a portion of this first appointment to share relevant background information, discuss concerns, and help establish goals for therapy, after which the therapist will meet individually with the child. This approach allows the therapist to better understand the child’s needs while also creating a space where the youth can begin building rapport and expressing themselves independently. Please inform us of any custody or decision-making arrangements prior to scheduling so that all legal and ethical requirements are met. If you have any questions or would like additional information before booking, please feel free to reach out — we’re happy to assist.”2 optionsOpenings checked 1 hr ago
