About Alexandre
With over 30 years of experience, Alex has been dedicated to helping people of all ages — from
infants to seniors — overcome a wide variety of health concerns. His clinical expertise includes
treating conditions such as acid reflux, asthma, postural imbalances, back, neck, and shoulder
pain, sciatica, herniated discs, headaches, migraines, and more.
Alex has also developed significant expertise in pediatric care, offering a truly holistic approach
to children’s health. He collaborates closely with optometrists, orthodontists, and lactation
specialists to support the well-being of infants, children, and teenagers in a comprehensive and
integrated way.
In addition to his work with families, Alex is highly experienced in treating athletes at all levels
— from Olympic and professional competitors to amateurs — in sports including hockey, soccer,
wrestling, boxing, MMA, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
His career has taken him around the world. He has worked and taught in both public and private
healthcare systems in Brazil, Europe, the U.S., and Canada. One of his most notable roles was
serving as Head of the Osteopathy Department at Albert Einstein Hospital in Brazil, which was
ranked among the world’s top 50 hospitals in 2022.
Alex's path toward Osteopathy began during his Physiotherapy studies, when he became
fascinated by the osteopathic philosophy of treating the person as a whole. His professional
training spans over 11 years. He graduated with a degree in Physiotherapy from the Pontifical
Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas) in 1994 and completed his Osteopathy
education in 2004 at the Madrid School of Osteopathy (EOM). He also undertook additional
studies at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) and Andrew Taylor Still
University (ATSU) in the U.S.
Beyond Osteopathy, Alex holds advanced training in Functional Orthopedics, Traumatology, and
Global Postural Re-education (RPG), allowing him to provide highly personalized and effective
care.
Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, Alex is a respected leader in the osteopathic
community. He is a past president of the Alberta Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists
(AAOMT), where he has been a member since 2016. He also served as vice president and board
member of the Canadian Federation of Osteopaths (CFO) between 2016 and 2018.
Since 2003, Alex has been a faculty member at the Madrid School of Osteopathy (EOM). In
2016, he began teaching at the Canadian Institute of Osteopathic Therapy (CIOT), where he
continues to promote the highest standards of osteopathic education and practice in Canada.
Outside of his professional life, Alex enjoys spending time with his two children, traveling,
staying active at the gym, and practicing martial arts. He is a black belt in Karate and has a
lifelong passion for movement, balance, and health.
