Working in mental health for the past 10 years has shown me just how vast human experience can be: how pain, resilience, humour, and hope can all exist at once.

I also understand how difficult reaching out can feel and deeply appreciate the fortitude it takes to seek support. I believe it’s important to have people around you who can help guide you, even if the path itself feels unclear.

I graduated with distinction with a bachelor’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing in 2016 and have spent the past decade working in community mental health and addictions, hospital environments, crisis teams, and federal corrections. These roles have allowed me the privilege of working alongside adults navigating mood disturbances, anxiety, trauma, addictions, neurodivergence, and justice involvement, as well as those who might feel failed or dismissed by traditional systems of care.

I have seen firsthand how broken our system can feel and how often medical gaslighting and injustice show up in people’s stories. At the same time, I have witnessed how much change is possible when someone feels truly supported, even when they believe they are at their lowest. These experiences shape my commitment to offering a space that is validating, grounded, and attuned to the realities many clients face.

My approach is integrative and relational. I take time to get to know you and tailor our work to your unique needs, drawing on my nursing background alongside person‑centred, trauma‑informed, and Rogerian influences. I have a growing interest in somatic and “bottom‑up” approaches, and I hold particular care for fellow first responders and helping professionals who feel burned out or impacted by moral injury.

I also know, personally, what it is like to seek counselling and to feel apprehensive, nervous, or unsure about where to start. My intention is to create a working relationship where you feel secure and allowed to be fully yourself, where all parts are welcome and met without judgment.

Low-cost counselling is offered while I complete my MACP (Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology) practicum under the supervision of Kate Pinsonneault, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor.
