About Amanda

Their own words
* Accepting Clients September 2026* Meet Amanda! Our student psychotherapist currently completing her practicum through Yorkville University in Counselling Psychology and being supervised by Justin Tudor Price. She brings a blend of professional experience, academic training, and lived experience to her work, having spent years supporting individuals through crisis, addiction, homelessness, trauma, and mental health challenges. As a crisis worker and former addictions counsellor, she has supported people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives and understands that meaningful change often begins with feeling genuinely heard and understood. Amanda believes that behaviours, emotions, and thought patterns make sense when viewed within the context of a person's life experiences. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, she is interested in understanding what may be driving or maintaining a client's struggles. She identifies as neurodiverse and is passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming environment where clients feel safe to show up authentically and without judgment. Amanda strives to offer LGBTQ2S+ affirming care and is committed to creating a therapeutic space where diversity is celebrated, identities are respected, and clients can explore their experiences openly and safely. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Behavioural Activation, person-centred principles, and trauma-informed approaches, Amanda works collaboratively with clients to build insight, identify patterns, and create meaningful change. She has a particular interest in supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, burnout, and relationship challenges. She is also passionate about working with helping professionals, first responders, neurodivergent individuals, and those living with the lasting impacts of childhood adversity. Amanda believes therapy should feel like a genuine human connection where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered to recognize their strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth. Fun Facts About Amanda • Is obsessed with plants and loves everything from houseplants to growing vegetables in the summer. • Loves painting and creating and finds creativity to be both grounding and restorative. • Loves the ocean and never passes up the opportunity for a beach day, especially if it involves searching for the perfect rock to bring home.
