Amanda Robertson, RCC
SaveAmanda (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who will be offering children’s therapy at Shine starting in April! She obtained her Master of Counselling (MC) degree and wrote her thesis focused on using play therapy to support children who have experienced traumatic life events. She has worked in various roles supporting children and families through their life experiences for over 4 years. Amandas focuses on providing therapy for diagnoses including ASD, ADHD, and more. She also focuses on providing support for kindergarten transition. Her practice is an integrative approach, using a blend of techniques personalized for everyone’s support needs. Amanda believes in the foundational attachment theory approach which influences her work to build a strong foundational relationship with her clients first and then build upon it. Amanda strives to be neurodiversity affirming and uses play based therapy and a strengths-based approach. Amanda’s practice is open to support children aged 3-10 years of age, with her specializing in the ages of 4, 5 and 6 years old.
