About Amanda

Their own words
Welcome! Amandas Journey: Amandas journey into the world of osteopathic manual therapy began not in a classroom, but as a patient searching for answers. For years she battled severe, chronic pain that completely disrupted her life. She tried common forms of therapy and consulted numerous doctors, but was continually met with temporary relief or no answers at all. Everything changed when she crossed paths with an osteopathic manual therapist. By looking at my body as a whole, they helped her achieve the lasting results and relief she thought was impossible. This transformative experience sparked a deep passion within her to understand the human body and provide that same profound relief to others. Amanda's Philosophy & Training: Amanda graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy with a Master in Practice Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Sciences (M.OMSc.) and am a member of Osteopathy Canada (OSTCAN). Her training consisted of an intensive 4.5-year educational program within the specialty of Osteopathic Manual Therapy. As a member of OSTCAN, her treatments are covered by most major third-party health insurance providers. Amanda's Approach: Amanda approaches osteopathy through a deeply classical lens, rooted in a thorough understanding of anatomy and the profound interconnectedness of the human body. She do not believe in simply chasing symptoms; instead, she always strives to find the root cause of patient's discomfort. Her clinical approach is guided by the core principles of structure-function relationships and a firm mechanical basis. She views symptomology not as a problem to be covered up, but as the body’s way of communicating. By listening to that communication and restoring mechanical balance, she allows the body's natural healing mechanisms to take over. Amandas Qualifications as a practitioner: - A Master in Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc) Diploma. - A certified member of OSTCAN (Osteopathy Canada), a prestigious association that holds its members to high standards requiring its Osteopathic manual therapists to have a minimum of 4200 hours of osteopathic specific education, and 1500 hours of supervised osteopathic clinical experience upon graduation. This ensures an excellent standard of professionalism and care for public patients. - Past experience in medically related fields such as dental. - Experience with seniors.
