About Amy

Amy is a Registered Psychologist and trauma therapist who provides counselling services for children (ages 6+), adolescents, adults, and families. She is also an approved provider for Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). Amy is passionate about helping clients overcome challenges, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change in their lives. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, cultural adjustment, identity concerns, or feeling overwhelmed and disconnected, Amy provides practical support and evidence-based strategies to help you move forward with greater confidence and clarity. Amy has extensive experience working with children, youth, adults, seniors and families. She particularly enjoys supporting children and adolescents, neurodivergent individuals (including those with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder), parents, immigrants, and newcomers to Canada. She understands that each person's experiences, strengths, and challenges are unique and works collaboratively with clients to develop individualized goals and treatment plans that fit their needs. For children and youth, Amy helps clients navigate emotional, behavioural, social, and family challenges while building confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills. For adults, she supports clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, parenting challenges, workplace stress, life transitions, and personal growth. She also understands the unique challenges that can accompany immigration, cultural adjustment, balancing multiple cultural identities, and building a sense of belonging in a new community. Amy takes a client-centred and trauma-informed approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs and circumstances. She draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Supportive Psychotherapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients develop insight, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting change. Amy is currently completing EMDRIA-approved Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training and is excited to begin offering EMDR therapy this summer. EMDR is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process traumatic experiences, reduce emotional distress, and move forward with greater confidence and wellbeing. Amy is committed to helping clients build on their strengths, overcome past trauma and obstacles, and create a more balanced and fulfilling life. Amy is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin and is pleased to offer counselling services in all three languages.Read more about AmyShow less
