#NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS Angela completed a Bachelor of Science in Honours Neuroscience at the University of Alberta, where her academic exploration of brain anatomy and physiology developed into a deeper passion for understanding mental health and human behaviour. This interest led her to pursue a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University, with the goal of becoming a Registered Psychologist. Angela is currently a Practicum Student Intern at Nova Psychology Institute, completing her graduate-level clinical training as part of her MACP program at Yorkville University. Under the supervision of Registered Psychologists, she is gaining hands-on experience providing counselling support within a professional mental health setting while continuing to develop her therapeutic skills, clinical competencies, and understanding of ethical, evidence-informed care. Through her graduate studies and practicum experience, Angela continues to expand her understanding of the many factors that shape individual experiences, while deepening her interest in how mental health experiences, cultural identity, and access to care can differ across diverse populations. As a Filipino immigrant, Angela is especially attuned to the cultural dimensions of wellbeing and the barriers that can impact individuals seeking mental health support. In addition to her academic and clinical training, Angela brings valuable administrative and organizational experience from her role as an Office Administrator in a physiotherapy clinic and her current position with the Workers’ Compensation Board of Alberta. These experiences have reinforced the importance of accommodations, meaningful conversations, and collaborative approaches to care. Angela draws on her diverse background, clinical training, and commitment to supporting others to create a respectful, thoughtful, and welcoming presence for individuals seeking mental health support. She is passionate about walking alongside clients as they navigate their unique experiences while continuing to grow as an emerging mental health professional.
