About Anna
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Since beginning my practice in 2019, I have supported individuals, couples, and teens through a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges, helping clients move from places of overwhelm, disconnection, and survival into greater clarity, resilience, connection, well-being, and alignment with their true selves.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, attachment-focused, and trauma-informed. I believe that healing happens in safe, supportive relationships and that clients already possess the inner capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. One of my strengths as a counsellor is bringing presence, compassion, and attunement into the therapeutic relationship so clients can feel supported as they navigate difficult experiences and emotions.
I integrate a variety of evidence-based and holistic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), somatic approaches, mindfulness-based practices, compassion-focused therapy, parts work, and nervous system regulation. I also offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an eye-movement based trauma-processing approach similar to EMDR that can help clients process distressing experiences in a gentle and effective way.
I view therapy as a collaborative and individualized process. We begin by creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can slow down, explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, and better understand the underlying patterns contributing to your current struggles. Together, we identify the different layers that may be getting in the way of your authentic self fully shining through, including unprocessed emotions and memories, nervous system responses, limiting beliefs, attachment wounds, and relational patterns that no longer serve you.
From there, we collaboratively determine which therapeutic approaches feel most supportive for your healing journey so that change can happen as safely and effectively as possible. As these layers begin to resolve, many clients naturally experience a stronger connection to themselves, greater emotional regulation, increased confidence, deeper self-trust, and more clarity around relationships, purpose, and the direction they want their lives to take.
I offer in-person counselling sessions in downtown Nanaimo on Mondays, as well as virtual sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I also offer free consultations on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
