Their own wordsAnum is a Qualifying Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and brings a wide set of skills from her diverse educational background. She has completed a Master’s degree in Psychospiritual Studies from the University of Toronto upon the foundations of a BA in Psychology at the University of Waterloo. In between the two, Anum pursued certification from Conestoga College to specialize her abilities in navigating the complex issues of substance abuse and its impacts on mental health.
On top of her education, Anum brings an attitude of respect and partnership to the care she provides. Anum has worked with a wide array of individuals, from adults and seniors to younger teens, and is excited to expand her services to support couples as they navigate all kinds of life’s challenges. Her main experiential background is in issues of anxiety, depression, intimate-partner violence, low self-esteem, grief, trauma, and chronic illness. Anum’s approach is one structured by compassion and collaboration, she strives to work with you in tailoring the therapeutic plan as you grow and evolve. While an anti-colonial and trauma-informed care informs the foundation of her practice, Anum integrates the branches of different modalities, such as Narrative Therapy, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT). For clients open to spirituality / religion within healing, she involves a unique framework supported by Spiritually Integrated Practice (SIP). When it comes to her clients, Anum’s ultimate goal is for them to discover their inner strengths and grow in holistic, sustainable ways. She provides a judgment-free environment, where you feel safe to explore yourself and your process in this healing journey together.
In addition to English, Anum also fluently speaks Urdu and Hindi, allowing her to passionately engage with her desire to support clients in diverse populations.
