About Ayshen
Their own wordsAyshen is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Public Health with a minor in Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, she gained experience supporting individuals in community mental health and crisis intervention settings.
Through her work supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, suicide risk, substance use concerns, and significant life stressors, Ayshen developed a deep appreciation for the resilience people demonstrate even during life's most difficult moments. These experiences strengthened her commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that helps clients feel understood and supported.
Ayshen has experience working with adults and youth facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, perfectionism, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, emotional regulation, and trauma. She believes that while our past shapes us, it does not have to define us, and she enjoys helping clients better understand themselves while developing practical tools to create meaningful, lasting change.
Ayshen strives to create a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe exploring both the challenges they are facing and the strengths they already possess. She recognizes that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable and is passionate about helping clients build self-compassion, increase confidence, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with their values.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. She tailors therapy to each individual, recognizing that every person's experiences, goals, and strengths are unique.
