About Brenda
Brenda Vega is an Intern Counsellor at Bach Counselling Group, completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She works with youth and adults to build skills to overcome the challenges of anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and questions of identity and purpose.
Alongside her counselling training, Brenda works as a Senior Crisis Service Responder — supporting individuals through acute emotional distress, mental health crises, and suicidality. Working at high levels of complexity and urgency has helped Brenda bring a particular kind of clinical skill: the ability to stay present, think clearly, and help someone find their way through situations that may feel completely unmanageable. She integrates mindfulness and somatic approaches in therapy organized around the clients goals.
Her clinical training integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy within a trauma-informed, somatic-informed, and culturally responsive framework. She has completed training in working effectively with Indigenous peoples and brings a genuinely integrative approach — drawing on the most useful methods and perspectives for the clients best success in counselling. Applying an integrative approach, Brenda tailors to each client's presentation and goals.
Brenda sees clients under clinical supervision at BCG's North Vancouver office and offers virtual counselling throughout BC.
