About Brenna
Brenna’s goal in therapy is to create a relationship built on safety, trust, and hope, where people feel accepted and challenged to grow in new and meaningful ways. She is passionate about supporting people in growing, healing, changing, and discovering more ease in themselves and in their relationships.
Brenna is happy working with all individuals (18+) seeking support. She is skilled at integrating many different approaches in therapy sessions. She works with Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, Lifespan Integration, Ego State, inner child and parts work, cognitive-behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and other person-centred and feminist approaches. She can support you in processing through a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, complex PTSD, developmental trauma, dissociation, perinatal mood disorders, traumatic loss, birth trauma, parenting challenges, and many other concerns.
In particular, Brenna is passionate about supporting new moms and birthing people in processing through any personal concerns or experiences that might impact their relationships with their children. She has nearly a decade of experience in supporting parents in building solid foundations in attachment with their young children. She has also worked therapeutically with young children. She can safely support you in processing your concerns and working toward your goals when you are considering pregnancy, throughout your pregnancy, and once you’re caring for your baby.
Because of the intimate connection between a parent and their baby, and the way your baby’s nervous system responds to yours, Brenna can work with you and your baby to process your baby’s birth trauma and other adverse baby experiences. This work can lead to lasting, impactful change for your baby and their development.
She feels privileged to accompany you on your journey.
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a brain and body-based therapy that uses the visual field, somatic awareness, and a therapist's attuned presence to access unprocessed traumatic memories stored in subcortical areas of the brain. These unprocessed memories underlie a wide range of emotional and physical concerns. Brainspotting is a resourcing therapy that can process from distressed or calm areas of the body, allowing clients to rapidly move through trauma processing in a contained and supported way. As the memories are stored in parts of the brain that are not responsible for speech, processing might work from feelings, memory, sensation, or thoughts. Clients commonly experience rapid relief from distress and profound insights.
