Caleb Young completed his bachelor degree in psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown in 2018. He completed his master’s degree from Mount Saint Vincent University’s school psychology program in Halifax in 2020. In 2024, he obtained his licence as a psychologist. He joined Maritime Psychology in 2026. Caleb has previous experience working in both public and private sectors. He worked for the Anglophone South School District on an Integrated Service Delivery Child & Youth team. Here, he provided individual consultation, assessment, and intervention for children and youth experiencing learning, cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioural challenges. More recently, Caleb provided similar psychological services while working at the Clinic of Applied Psychology. Caleb is passionate about working with and supporting children and adolescents. He offers a variety of assessment and treatment services for youth and their parents. Children and adolescents are Caleb’s primary demographic for assessment and interventions, but he can also provide some of these services for adults as well. His interests include learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and behaviour management. In assessment and intervention, Caleb favours an eclectic approach using a biopsychosocial framework individualized to the needs of each client. He is a strong advocate of adhering to research-supported, evidence-based practices along with preventive approaches. He believes collaboration, consultation, and psychoeducation are fundamental to effective psychological practice.
