**Direct billing Pacific Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross, Telus eClaims (includes Canada Life, Manulife, People Corporation and many more), Provider Connect (Greenshield, Empire Life) and Sun Life.** Calyx Donna Kuprowski approaches Chinese medicine as a lifelong study of nature: a symphony of elements, meridians, organs and processes. Patterns in nature and their seasonal cycles can correlate with how we observe and diagnose the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. When change comes to our lives, whether through hormonal cycles, pain, fatigue, chronic conditions, or unanticipated emotions, it is helpful to have a collaborator who is skilled in observing, listening, asking questions, and applying knowledge from this lens of Chinese medicine. Calyx earned dual degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture and Western Phytotherapy (Clinical Herbalism) from Pacific Rim College. Calyx values compassion and confidentiality, while fostering an intelligent understanding of our strengths and wounds. Prior to her acupuncture studies, Calyx co-facilitated therapeutic nature excursions for youth in addiction and mental health recovery, giving her the tools to navigate the terrain of peoples’ significant life events. Calyx’s background in bodywork [TCM Tui Na (meridian massage), Ayurvedic marma point massage, basic Swedish effleurage, and level one Jin Shin Do acupressure] and art (B.FA., Emily Carr University of Art + Design), have led Calyx to appreciate the creative, dynamic, and interdependent processes of being alive. The body is the meeting ground of physiological, psychological processes and environmental factors that contribute to your whole health picture. Calyx creates an atmosphere in the treatment room where you have the potential to return to your original nature (yuan benxing).

A three-visit acupuncture package to help prepare your body for labour. Research has shown that acupuncture can contribute to cervical ripening, ligament relaxation, and reduced complications during labour. If labour occurs before the last treatment is used, you are welcome to use it in your postpartum. Treatment begins in week 37 or 38 of the pregnancy. The package is discounted by $10 for each treatment from the standard acupuncture treatment price.
Gua Sha with Rose Helichrysum Oil plus Acusculpting ™ The treatment begins with the application of a skin nourishing rose and helichrysum oil blend, followed by a gentle Gua Sha treatment on the face, or more vigorous if treating cellulite areas such as legs or abdomen. Gua Sha utilizes a jade or rose quartz flat stone tool to glide over the tissue, encouraging circulation and the release of stagnation. In the west, we would refer to concepts such as lymphatic drainage and fascial smoothing or gliding. Finally, Acusculpting ™ is done with acupuncture needles that are inserted along contour lines, wrinkles, cellulite or scar tissue, with time to relax and renew. It is recommended that this style of treatment be done as a package in close sequence for best results. If booked as a package (3 treatments), the price is discounted to $440. Price adjustments will be made at the time of the appointment.
