Their own wordsCarly Woods is a Speech-Language Pathologist, working in the field since 2016. Carly provides services in English to people throughout the lifespan, including by not limited to articulation, stuttering, early language, support for neurodivergent individuals, those living with aphasia, including primary progressive aphasia (PPA), and other neurological or neurodegenerative diagnoses. She brings a collaborative approach, working with families and other professionals while keeping the client at the centre of care. Carly’s clinical experience includes 1:1 and group therapy sessions, consultation, as well as, caregiver and teacher education and training.
Carly is trained on Supported Conversation Approach for Adults with Aphasia (SCA™) techniques through the Aphasia Institute, completing both Concepts, Practice and Evaluation and Advanced Practicum courses. Carly is also trained in the Lidcombe Program, a stuttering treatment for pre-school aged children. Passionate about learning and providing quality care, Carly is continually completing courses and staying up to date on current research, including on-going learning to provide trauma-informed, neurodiversity affirming and evidence based care.
Outside of her clinical work, Carly is the Clinical Program Development Lead. In this role she supports identification of gaps in service and creation of programs to best serve our community.
