Catherine completed her Master of Physical Therapy degree at the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria. This is a focused treatment for c-section scar mobility. C-section scars can cause symptoms such as numbness, itchiness, sensitivity, restricted movement, “shelf” appearance, puckering, pulling or adhesions that may contribute to abdominal discomfort or tension in surrounding tissues which can affect abdominal and pelvic floor function. This appointment includes assessment of your scar and includes treatment techniques such as massage, cupping and manual mobilization techniques and a home program to supplement treatments.

For you and your birth partner! Book this appointment if you have seen a pelvic health physiotherapist for an initial assessment and are 32 - 40 weeks pregnant. In your initial assessment we will discuss your specific goals for this session, it can be tailored to first time parents or those who already have experienced labour and delivery. My goal is to help you feel supported, prepared and empowered to make decisions in labour and delivery and to help include your partner by teaching them hands on techniques to help with pain management and partner support. Topics covered include: reducing the risk of perineal tears, labour and delivery positions, protecting the pelvic floor, breathing and pushing strategies, pain management education and hands on skills for your partner. There is also the option for perineal stretching. You will be provided with a birth preparation booklet of everything we cover to take with you to your labour and delivery.
