About Chris
Chris has dedicated the past 14 years to education, predominantly teaching Grade 6. His practice is built on a foundation of empathy, and his exceptional ability to connect with each student has helped them thrive in his classroom. Students appreciate Chris for his sense of humor and the genuine, non-judgmental, and supportive relationships he fosters with them.
Chris earned his Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies, with a double minor in Health Sciences and Kinesiology, from Simon Fraser University. After completing the Professional Development Program for his BC Teacher’s Certification, he obtained a degree in education and further pursued a Post-Degree Diploma in Adventure Education from Camosun College. Currently, he is working toward a Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in School Counselling, with the goal of becoming a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).
Outside of his professional life, Chris enjoys running marathons, playing ice hockey, and embarking on multi-day kayaking and hiking trips. A passionate traveler, he has explored off-the-beaten-path destinations like Patagonia, Southeast Asia, and Bolivia. His travels have given him a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and have enhanced his empathy and perspective. When he’s not teaching, Chris also runs a small business creating handcrafted wood furniture.
Chris’s diverse background, passions, and skills allow him to easily connect with others. His approach is rooted in Person-Centred Therapy, where he provides a non-judgmental space for clients to empower themselves, uncover their own solutions, and build a stronger sense of self. He is deeply committed to supporting his clients and ensuring they never feel alone on their journey.
