Claire is a physiotherapist originally from Edmonton, Alberta. Several years of volunteer work with children and families dealing with Developmental Coordination Disorder during her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology initially sparked Claire’s interest in physiotherapy. The tremendous motivation and compassion of these young individuals inspired her to pursue a career where she could empower people to improve their wellbeing and achieve their goals. After graduating with her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta, Claire worked with a variety of clients experiencing different musculoskeletal dysfunctions ranging from motor vehicle accidents to injuries sustained in high performance athletics. Through her treatment of chronic low back and sacroiliac pain, she developed a special interest in pelvic health. Her passion in this area stems from the fact that the impact of the pelvic floor is often under-appreciated, and the pelvic floor under-treated. Pelvic Floor Dysfunction can affect a variety of people and have a major impact on quality of life. Her post-graduate certifications include: Orthopedic level 1 Mulligan Concept Lower Extremity Functional Dry Needling (FDN) level 1 and level 2 The Physical Therapy Approach to Female and Male Urinary Incontinence. As competitive ballet was an integral part of Claire’s youth, she appreciates the importance of taking the time to thoroughly assess a dysfunction, and learn about her client’s occupations, activities, and hobbies to provide a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan.
