This is an extended, one-hour long initial assessment for the hand & upper limb. This is typically used in post-operative cases, or if the situation is complex. If you aren’t sure if this applies to you, please call to book.
This standard 45 minute assessment is appropriate for most hand and upper extremity conditions. If you are post-operative or have multiple concerns please book an extended 60 minute assessment. We do not direct bill thus please take note whether you are booking with a Physiotherapist or an Occupational Therapist if you wish to submit to your insurance. Note: we do NOT accept ICBC or Worksafe claims.
PRICES Your splint price will depend on both the size and complexity of the splint, which we will assess during this session. The final price will be a combination of the therapist's time spent making the splint (typically 45 minutes / $150) as well as the splint material itself (from approximately $30-$120). We decide on splint size and type based on your injury/condition, any doctor’s orders, and above all your own preferences. PAYMENT The session will be billed as a "Custom Rigid Thermoplastic Splint" and payment is received after the splint is fabricated. We do not direct bill third parties. INSURANCE If you are looking to use your insurance coverage, a splint can be made by either a Physiotherapist or an Occupational Therapist. We provide you with a receipt after payment which you can submit to your insurance provider.
