AjouterFrom her early days in small-town Saskatchewan, Danette's life has been a whirlwind of sports and outdoor adventures. Whether climbing trees, camping, waterskiing, or lifeguarding, she embraced every opportunity to move and explore. Her deep-rooted desire to make a positive impact, especially on children, led her to a career in healthcare.
After earning her physiotherapy degree from the University of Saskatchewan, she set her sights on Calgary, where she dove into the world of sports and manual therapy. Employed at a multidisciplinary clinic she had the opportunity to collaborate with other health care providers to develop her skills in providing care for a variety of musculoskeletal clients. While there, she worked with various local youth sports teams, on the field and had the opportunity to travel and work internationally with Canada’s National freestyle team at the World Cup.

Seeking more adventure and proximity to nature's wonders, she moved to Kelowna. Here, she not only raised her four children but also dedicated countless hours to supporting kids as a parent, volunteer coach, and community enthusiast. Danette's passion for adventure and creativity flowed through her family, with years of shared camping, skiing, hiking, scuba diving, games, and travel experiences.
Now, Danette is thrilled to embark on her pediatric journey, partnering with families to help children thrive and achieve their unique goals. Her diverse background in private practice physiotherapy, from sports to manual therapy, persistent pain, and pelvic health in adults, equips her to understand and address the movement challenges kids face. Her curiosity is a driving force, propelling her to explore pediatric pelvic health for young children and athletes to enhance their health and functionality.
Outside of work, you'll find Danette embracing the great outdoors, whether hiking, walking with friends, skiing, paddle boarding, or practicing yoga. She's an avid reader, with a book always within reach, whether on the beach or by the fire. Each year, her birthday gift to herself is the opportunity to try something new, keeping her sense of wonder alive. What will the next new adventure be? Only time will tell.

A follow up session for clients diagnosed with concussion. Your physiotherapist will check-in on your child’s progress, provide treatment, and prescribe exercises to continue at home.

Looking for physiotherapy for your infant who is struggling with breast or bottle feeding? In this one-hour specialized assessment, your physiotherapist will assess your infant’s latch, tongue mobility, and overall motor development. Physiotherapy exercises and positioning can help improve your infant’s feeding to allow for more comfortable, successful feeds for both parent and baby. Please note: this assessment will evaluate the infant and does not include maternal assessment or breast health.

If your child struggles with continence or pelvic floor dysfunction, physiotherapy can be an important piece of the solution! In this one hour focused assessment, a physiotherapist with specialized training in pediatric incontinence and pelvic floor assessment will gather information about your child's dietary and voiding habits, perform a visual assessment of the pelvic floor and provide a treatment plan on management strategies specific to your child.

Worried your child may have sustained a concussion? We’re here to help. Our therapists are certified to diagnose concussion, and this assessment will be used to do just that, as well as provide education to your and your child and create a treatment plan. If your child has a concussion they will require more than one session before being cleared to return to sport.

Kids Physio Group - Kelowna is proud to offer scoliosis-specific physiotherapy services to kids and teens with Scoliosis or Scheuermann's Kyphosis. In this one-hour focused assessment, a physiotherapist with specialized Schroth Method training will start with an in-depth conversation about your child's scoliosis history, perform a physical assessment to gather baseline measures, provide education, and discuss their interpretation and measurements of your child's X-ray images. Based on their findings, your child's goals and circumstances, the physiotherapist will come up with a therapy plan that is best for your child!
