Their own wordsDenise completed both her Master of Science in Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McGill University.
With experience in both private practice and hospital settings, Denise treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including sports and overuse injuries, workplace and motor vehicle accident injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and acute and chronic pain.
She has a special interest in pelvic health physiotherapy, supporting individuals with a range of concerns, including incontinence, pelvic pain, and perinatal and postpartum care.
Denise takes a patient-centred and evidence-informed approach to care, combining thorough assessment with hands-on treatment, dry needling (IMS), taping, targeted exercises, and education to help patients better understand their symptoms and take an active role in their recovery. Her experience at Vancouver General Hospital has strengthened her ability to adapt rehabilitation to each patient's unique needs and abilities, allowing her to develop individualized treatment plans that help patients return to the activities that matter most to them.
Denise has completed further clinical training through the Orthopaedic Division's AIM Physiotherapy Program (Level 1, Level 2 Upper, Level 2 Lower), McKenzie Method (Part A & C), and Pelvic Health Solutions (Level 1 and 2). She also has clinical experience in vestibular rehabilitation.
Outside of the clinic, Denise is an avid rock climber and was previously a member of the Hong Kong climbing team! She continues to enjoy climbing and staying active, whether that be through hiking or hopping through bubble tea shops.
Denise is fluent in Cantonese and conversational in Mandarin. She looks forward to working with you and helping you feel stronger, more confident, and better equipped to reach your goals.
