Their own wordsIf you've been the person others rely on to have it together while quietly struggling with self-doubt, anxiety, people-pleasing or the lingering effects of past experiences, Donna has spent decades working with women in exactly this position. She works with adults and couples, and she brings professional expertise alongside real life experience into the room.
Donna works integratively. She draws on Internal Family Systems (IFS - helping clients understand and develop compassion for different parts of themselves), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based stress reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR - used selectively for processing traumatic memories). She also draws on more than thirty years of experience in health, fitness and psychology, and includes psychoeducation about trauma, anxiety, nervous system regulation and attachment to give clients practical tools.
Donna does her best work with high-achieving women who are tired of living according to fear, limiting beliefs or others' expectations, and who are ready to create meaningful change.
Clients often describe Donna as warm, genuine, down to earth and easy to talk to. She brings both clinical expertise and lived experience into the therapy room, uses humour where it fits, and works collaboratively and conversationally.
Registered Clinical Counsellor #18691 with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Author and Speaker. Trained in EMDR Level 1, Internal Family Systems and Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor certification. Draws on IFS, ACT, MBSR, MSCT (Mindful Self-Compassion Training), Motivational Interviewing and EMDR. More than thirty years of experience in health, fitness and psychology. Sessions in English and French.

With couples I use Imago relationship therapy (Imago means image) which addresses two journeys that connect experiences of relationship in childhood with experiences in adult love relationships. As your Imago therapist I work to support you and your relationship by exploring the space between you and what is preventing you from connecting to one another. To seek to understand what's underneath all the hurt, the reactions and the behaviours that seem to make it difficult or even sometimes impossible to feel seen, heard and understood by the other. I am currently completing the Imago Relationship Therapy Certification and for a limited time I will be offering couples 90 minutes sessions at a 75 minute rate.”Individual Counselling
