About Jeffrey

Dr. MacLeod completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie University and predoctoral residency in Calgary, AB. He has worked for the IWK Health Centre for several years with youth who have disruptive behavior disorders and/or mental health problems, and justice-involved youth. He has also offered general mental health services to children, teens, and adults both during his training and in private practice. He completed a portion of his training in an Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Clinic and enjoys working with members or veterans of the Canadian Forces, RCMP, police, and other first responders. Dr. MacLeod uses evidence-based approaches to treatment. His preferred approaches are primarily cognitive-behavioral, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Other approaches may be used for specific disorders, such as Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD.
