Dr. Karandeep Athwal began his academic journey at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, where he completed three years toward a Bachelor of Science degree before earning his Doctor of Chiropractic with honours from Palmer College of Chiropractic West Campus in San Jose, California. His interest in sports therapy began after rehabilitating from a serious ankle injury at a young age. This interest was reinforced while working for the BC Athletic commission where he was exposed to combat sports athletes who consistently put their bodies on the line and prioritized both injury rehabilitation and preventative care to maintain peak performance. Focusing on an evidence based approach, Dr. Athwal’s treatment prioritizes soft tissue therapies and corrective exercises. He uses a variety of techniques such as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Active Release Techniques (ART), Myofascial decompression cupping (MFD), spinal and extremity manipulation/mobilization and Percussion Therapy. He is a member of the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS) and is currently working towards earning his International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC). Dr. Athwal is committed to delivering personalized care that supports individuals from all walks of life in recovering from injury, restoring function, and moving pain-free.
